FAQ’s

What is resin?

Resin is either a UV cured liquid or a two part compound that can encase nearly all types of organic & inorganic materials.

Can my inclusion be removed from resin?

No, once resin cures, whatever is inside is encased permanently.

Is resin durable?

Overall, yes, however it should not be subjected to abrasive surfaces or chemicals as it is possible to scratch it’s surface.*  To miminize yellowing, clear and light colored pieces should not be left in direct sunlight .  Also, any pieces with floral inclusions should not be left in direct sunlight to avoid fading as the resin protects the flower itself, but cannot protect against color fade.

Can more than one inclusion be added to a piece?

Absolutely! Multiple inclusions can be combined in both jewelry & keepsakes - just message me to let me know what you're thinking and I'd be happy to create the perfect piece for you!

How do I know my inclusion is in my keepsake?

I understand some people are skeptical of how this process works, especially if they’ve chosen to have their inclusion hidden.  Making sure your inclusion is handled properly and incorporated into your piece is of utmost importance to me.  All of my work is done individually and there is no chance of a mixup.  I do offer an add on service in which  the process is recorded in a Timelapse video.

What types of metal do you work with?

Nearly all of the jewelry I use is 925 sterling silver.  I do offer a few pieces set in stainless steel, brass and lightweight metal.  Because I want all of my pieces to stand the test of time, I do not currently offer any type of plated or filled jewelry to avoid the risk of flaking or discoloration.  I am able to order many pieces in solid gold fittings and findings in 9, 14  and 24k gold and am happy to do so.  Please message me to discuss pricing.

Do you offer custom work?

Yes!  Please feel free to reach out and we can discuss what you’re looking for and how to create your dream piece!

I have a piece of jewelry already that I’d like to have an inclusion added to, is that possible?

Most likely, yes.  Please reach out to me and send me photos of your jewelry and we can discuss how to go about adding your inclusion.  If you have a piece of jewelry that’s lost a stone adding an inclusion is absolutely possible.

How long does the process take?  Can I rush my order?

Time lines may vary, but I do my best to create your piece as quickly as possible.  Please message me ahead of your order and I can let you know what ring styles I have in your size.  If I have your jewelry setting in stock I estimate most orders will take 3-5wks from the time I receive your inclusions.  However I am unable to stock all ring sizes at all times, for obvious expense reasons.  However I am unable to stock all ring sizes at all times, for obvious expense reasons.  If I have to order your size, please know I am at the mercy of the other vendor; this can take 6-8wks.  I will communicate with regularly to keep you informed of the time table, particularly if it's on the longer end of the timetable.

Rush orders are difficult and while I will do my best to work with you, but I cannot guarantee them.  Please message me if you have concerns about the timeframe to receive your piece.

I would like to order multiple pieces for myself and/or family members, do you offer a discount?

Yes!  I am happy to offer discounts for any orders that include more than three pieces.  Please message me prior to placing your order to discuss which pieces you’re interested in and I will work with you to create a discounted bundle.

What if I’m not happy with my piece?  Can I get a refund?

Due to the personal nature of each order and that each piece is made individually, I cannot offer refunds, however I will work with you to remake your piece.  I know how precious these pieces are and I will make every effort to ensure your happiness.   If you ever have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me - over communication is always better than under communication!

What if  I don’t like the jewelry piece I picked, can I exchange it?

Yes, this is why I send your selected jewelry finding with your collection kit.  This allows you to be sure that you are happy with the style, size and material BEFORE I encase your memory in it.  If you aren’t happy with the jewelry for any reason, you can send it back (in unused condition), let me know what you’d like to replace it with and we start the process again.

My piece got scratched, is there any way to fix it?

The answer is nearly always yes.  All of my jewelry pieces are finished with a top coat, so in the event of surface damage I can typically sand that down and recoat it.

Do you offer a warranty?

I understand how important these pieces are and I stand behind them.  If you have any kind of issue, please reach out to me and I will do my best to get it corrected.  If your piece is not repairable I will offer to remake a new piece at a discounted rate.   If you have an issue with a silver chain I will offer you a replacement at a discounted rate.

What if I can’t bring myself to send you my inclusion?  What happens to my order?

I understand how difficult it can be to send such a precious item.  Please take all the time you need, be it days, weeks or months.  If the timeframe goes beyond 6mos I will reach out to to you to offer either a gift card or to make a piece for you that will incorporate colors or materials that remind you of your loved one, without their hair or ash.
